Sadly I have encountered it one time in my pc building history, a dead Core i7-4770K cpu because i dropped it before delidding. The fall broke a few of the transistors on the back. Instead of throwing it in the trash and quickly forget about my stupid mistake you could also make a nice piece of art out of the dead CPU.
Buildzoid known from it’s youtube channel Actually Hardcore Overclocking did that. He modded/unmasked the pcb around the die, exposing the bare copper pcb with it’s communication channels below. Simple but beautifull.
